I probably won't win a gold medal in Bejing...

  • I feel bad for starting this Yesterday's Happenings on a sad note, and I'm sorry.  I'm also not sorry for winning a gold medal in Beijing.

  • I watched archery the other day and thought I could probably get a gold medal in that by 2012 - that or shooting seem like they'd be pretty friggin' easy to get good at in 4 years.  So if you're the owner and/or operator of an archery or shooting range, let me know.  Maybe we can make a deal.

  • I hate the judges at the Olympics.

  • I typed that because I just said it out loud.

  • (normally I don't talk when I'm writing these)

  • The judges are just so wrong in gymnastics.  I think all the judges want to marry China so they're way too nice to it.  I hope they replace judges with suits that keep track of every movement to eliminate human error.

  • Stupid humans.

  • Thanks for reading this, friend!!

  • I don't think you're stupid - just all the humans that make mistakes.

  • I woke up at 8:30AM today.  Deter and Michelle have hired someone to clean the apartment every now and then, and those cleaning people decided to come at 9AM instead of 8:15AM like they were supposed to.  So I woke up at 8:30AM to be told that I would be woken up at 9AM when they arrived.

  • Then I woke up at 9AM when they arrived.

  • I stayed awake because being awake is a beautiful thing.

  • I also went to the bathroom (not a beautiful thing).

  • I think I just putt-putted around this morning until I walked to Ace Hardware to have keys made.  They were less than $2.00 per key, which is a pretty good deal if you ask me.  I recommend you go to Ace for all your key needs (shocking news: they don't even pay me for this).

  • Then I walked back.

  • I gave a set of keys to the people who clean the apartment so I don't have to wake up at 8:30AM then 9AM the next time.

  • I watched a movie called "The Mighty."  Have you seen it??  If you like nice movies, I recommend you watch it.  If you like war movies, I recommend you see "Saving Private Ryan."  If you like awesome movies, definitely watch "Mortal Kombat."

  • (yes, the movie studios paid me for that)

  • Afterwards I did some cleaning-related activities.  I don't think I did a whole lot, but I didn't do anything else this afternoon, so it musta been quite a bit.  Normally I conquer Europe or build cities or whatever other very interesting then I'm in the middle of - today I just went along.

  • There's lots more room under my bed now that it's rearranged and I've made good use of it.  Unfortunately there isn't quite enough room to watch "Top Gun," wear Calvin Klein purfume, or eat at Arby's.

  • But those are all great things that should be done!!

  • (so says I, completely arbitrarily)

  • I had softball practice tonight.  Thank GOD I'm already on the team - after tonight I sure as heck wouldn't want me on the team.  My hitting wasn't too bad, though!!

  • Afterwards I went to In & Out with Chance.  Here's how it went:
    "Want to grab some dinner??"
"Sure, but it has to be cheap."
    "Like under $10.00??"
    "No, like $3.00."
"Oh.  So where can you eat for that much??"
    "McDonald's, Burger King, Carl's Jr., Wendy's..."
    "In & Out??"
    "Too expensive."
    "I'll pay the difference."

  • So that was nice!!  It was like going to In & Out with an older brother.

  • We chatted then I came home and watched more Olympics!!

...feel free to end it here.
